The title may seem a little suprising at first. Is Christ really advocating some sort of warfare or violence? The topic of the gun control has come up many times lately, and has been a topic of debate amongst friends.  Are we as Catholics supposed to just lye down and play dead? In the Catholic Church we have the just war doctrine (not to be confused with pre-emptive strikes against an enemy) and many instances in scripture of God instructing the faithful to take up arms for various reasons.  We are called the Church Militant and in a constant spiritual battle.  This article from Fr.
